Team Leadership
Robert Emery is a former Luz Engineer and Project Manager with extensive experience managing permitting, engineering, construction and operation of multimillion dollar solar power stations and development of a solar direct steam process (Pat. 12/862,313) for augmentation and hybridization of fossil fuel facilities.
Accomplishments
1. Develop cutting-edge solar Direct Steam Generation process.
2. Provide expertise with permitting, site selection and acquisition, utility
interconnection, and Mexico component fabrication of solar/biomass
hybrid power projects for Bethel Energy, LP Daniel Engineers and AET
Solar of Carpinteria.
3. Involved with initial planning of Integrated Solar Combined Cycle (ISCC) at Kuraymat, Egypt and development of Mexicali II.
4. Participated in Minister level meetings in Germany and Spain to plan and develop a Global Solar Initiative.
5. Proposed constructing power plants in Mexico and exporting power to the US in early 90s to SDG&E.
6. Negotiated the first agreements to construct solar power stations on Native American Lands.
7. Managed
start-up SEGS III Solar/Gas Electric Generating Station, engineering
and construction of SEGS V, capital projects for SEGS III – IV,
conceptual design of SEGS VIII and "Application for Certification" with
the California Energy Commission for the Kramer Junction, CA complex.
8. Proposed the "fired Heater concept" for SEGS VIII at Harper Lake, CA.
9. Initiated development of Bio-Remediation of dyphenyl oxide biphenyl Heat Transfer Fluid at Luz.
